Team

The people building 2Brains.

2Brains was founded on the premise that AI’s reliability problem is structural, not statistical — that the fix is an architecture, not a better prompt. The company is led by an economist who helped shape U.S. innovation policy and a technologist who helped build modern computing from inside Apple and Adobe.

Leadership
Robert E. Litan
Chief Executive Officer

Litan is an economist and attorney who has spent four decades at the intersection of innovation, regulation, and capital formation. He has served as Vice President for Research and Policy at the Kauffman Foundation, Vice President and Director of Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution, and Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Clinton. He has authored or co-authored more than thirty books on technology, antitrust, and economic policy.

At 2Brains, Litan is also a named co-inventor on U.S. Patent Application No. 19/439,161, the company’s foundational filing on faithfulness verification and the three-lane epistemic model.

Robert X. Cringely
Co-founder

Cringely is a technology journalist and an early employee of two of the companies that defined modern computing. He was the twelfth employee at Apple, the twenty-ninth at Adobe, and the author of Accidental Empires, the host of the PBS documentary series Triumph of the Nerds, and a long-running columnist on the technology industry. The architectural ideas underlying 2Brains — the separation of fact verification from language generation, the use of deterministic retrieval to escape GPU dependence — began as a body of his work that predates the company.

Cringely is a named co-inventor on U.S. Patent Application No. 19/439,161.
